Free online intermediate French course for level B1-B2 ( DELF/ TCF)

For those looking for an economical but quality course to improve their level in french online, look no further than this free online intermediate french course for level b1 and B2. This MOOC (Massive Open Online Course), which is being offered by the University of Paris Saclay, Étudier en France : cours de français intermédiaire B1-B2, was one of those rare finds that I just had to share.

Since starting this online resource hub for French exam a few years, a lot has changed in terms of the way language training is offered.  However, what has not changed much is the limited number of resources available for intermediate and advance learners of the French language and even more so for those who are currently preparing for official French exams such as the TCF and DELF.

As of the 23 of January 2018, this course is open and you are able to enroll and follow the the online classes. However, if at the time of visiting this MOOC Étudier en France : cours de français intermédiaire B1-B2, you find that the session is finished or unavailable, just keep checking back as they seem to be offering new sessions just a few weeks or so after one session is finished.

To give you some information about this intermediate french Course:

Who is this  course for ?

This course is intended for students who wish to pursue their studies in France. However, I do believe it can be useful for anyone who has an intermediate level in french, is interested in the French language and culture, and is preparing to take an official French exam such as the DELF or TCF.

This B1 / B2 intermediate French course, which also complies with the requirements of the European Framework of Reference for Languages, is part of the “training with digital” and “language and interculturality” system set up by The University of Paris Saclay.

It is necessary to have an intermediate level (B1-B2) to be able to follow it. You will need to commit 6 weeks to complete this program with an average of, 5 to 7 hours per week.

What will I be able to do when I am finished?

This course  will enable learners not only to have the level required in French to take courses in the French higher education system in terms of language skills but will help them adapt to their new environment in the best conditions.

This course offers an immersion in the student universe through course videos, texts of multiple formats, short excerpts of films and authentic videos that give voice to French or foreign students living in France.

What does the course covers?

Learners will be able to work on all the skills (oral and written comprehension, oral and written expression, grammar and vocabulary) and then test their skills through the numerous quizzes offered and each week they will have the opportunity to participate in debates and discussions. Discussions organized on the forum.

Focus on French civilization is also a key part of this course, as learners will discover life in France and the French-speaking world through its cultures, literatures, films, television news and language (standard and more familiar) and to understand the French higher education system (attend a lecture, understand The functioning of evaluation …).

Its objectives are therefore linguistic, but also cultural and practical! You are even able to earn an official certificate after completing this course. Important note however: This Mooc does not replace the B1 or B2 tests such as those proposed by the Ciep: TCF, Delf or Dalf.

This course was funded with the support of the Paris-Saclay University and the Patrick and Lina Drahi Foundation. Remember to check out the link if you have not done so already.
