For your preparation for your TCF there are a number of resources available to you in the form of books and websites. Here are a few that I find to be pretty good. you should definitely take a look at them, when you are considering resources for your TCF exam preparation.

Books for TCF exam preparation

tcf activities

This book is very popular among french language schools in France. These follow the same structure of the TCF. Using this book, you can be sure you are on your way to getting the score you deserve on your next TCF exam.

These book can be found on many online bookstore such as Amazon. However, remember to shop around for the best prices.

Billaud Sandrine et Helene Relat. TCF : 250 activites. Paris : CLE International, 2003.

Reussir Le TCF: Exercices et activites d’entrainement , Author: Olivier Bertrand , Isabella Schaffner

This book is great for those wishing to prepare for the TCF by self-study. It offers extensive exercise on the key competences that are needed to be successful in your French exam: listening, language structure and reading comprehension and as well as many written and oral exercises that conform to the format of the TCF.

All exercises have been validated by the CIEP, the official body that delivery this test. Each part consists of exercises evaluating all levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, from beginner (A1) to the next level (C2). It allows everyone to practice according to their level and at their own pace.

You can check this website FRENCH EXAM HUB for Mock exams. It is a collection of all the Mock Exams and exercises resources  are based on the CEFR standard (levels A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 & C2). This means that exam such as the DELF, DALF and TCF follows the same structure. You are expected to learn the same things and the questions and expectation are very similar. As a result, you are able to use the same exercises for these exams to prepare for the TCF. Choose according to your current level in French and start preparing today!

This site is also regularly update with new files and links that can be helpful for the exam preparation. Join our mailing list or join us on Facebook to get regular updates on when other exercises and other test for the TCF exam becomes available.

There are also many useful recommendation for other websites,  apps and podcasts that can be useful in helping you prepare for your exams.

Radio FrRFI++Radio+Franceance International offers exercises, based on the TCF exam format, to understand the news or just to practice your listening and improve your understand of spoken French. These listening exercises are ideal for persons you are at least at the B1 level. In addition to listening « Le journal en français facile », you can read the transcript which is also available.

The site also has exercises based on the listening exercise. There are also a podcast available, which you can download the audio files, so you can listen to them on your mp3 player.

Especially for the TCF, there are a number of mock tests available on the website. It follows the same format as the TCF, where each question gets progressively more difficult. At the end of each test, based on your result, it will give you a score. It will also tell you wish level you have attained on the scale from A1 to C2.

Very similar totv5 Radio France International, this website offers short newscast from TV5 Monde. There are three new videos each week, plus all the other videos are archived on the site. Each video includes a transcript, as well as three comprehension exercises, with each exercise getting progressively difficult to reflect levels A2 to B2.

While it is recommended for level A2 and above, I find the listening a little difficult for this level, and based on my experience in taking the DELF A2 it is not necessary to use this website if you are not aiming for anything more than a A2. I find this site more suitable for levels B1 and above.

There is also an app that can be found in the apple apps store to complement this site. There are two versions: as expect, one free and one paid. The free version allows you one video (the same videos from the website) and the paid versions provides you with the three videos.

Didierfle

This website offers exercises, based on the TCF exam. It covers exercise for  Oral Comprehension, structure of the language and written comprehension based on the structure of the TCF.

 Au Fil Du Fle

More of a blog, however, it is very useful. Follows the same format as TV5 Monde. A video clip in French followed by a comprehension exercise. This site is suitable for level B2 and above.
